Deepawali is celebrated every year in November. We were looking for this day. We made many preparations. We cleaned our house. We removed dirt and mosquitoes. We whitewashed the walls. We painted the doors. We decorated our drawing room with pictures. We bought new utensils on'Dhanteras'. We illuminated our houses. We brought some sweets. My mother prepared sweets. We lit lamps and candles. The electric lights were lit. Crackers were fired by us. We gave food and clothes to the beggars. We greeted our elders and friends. We made merry on the day. We worshipped goddess Laxmi. We prayed to Lord Rama. We welcomed our friends on the following day. We did Goverdhan pooja. We celebrated Chhoti Diwali one day before the Deepawali. It was a very happy and joyful day.
